The national campaign resources ‘Keep Antibiotics Working’ support the Government’s efforts to reduce inappropriate prescriptions for antibiotics.
The 'Keep Antibiotics Working' national campaign was first launched in October 2017 across England. This was to support the Government’s efforts to reduce inappropriate prescriptions for antibiotics by raising awareness of the issue of antimicrobial resistance and reducing demand from the public. The campaign was relaunched for the second time on 5 November 2019.
Antibiotic resistance cannot be fought by individuals alone and so we need your help. The aims of the Nationwide campaign are:
- To emphasise that antibiotic resistance is a major public health issue.
- To raise awareness of antibiotic resistance and its dangers.
- Encourage behaviour change towards the use of antibiotics.
- To increase recognition of the role individuals play in preventing antibiotic resistance and that small actions can make a big difference.
